I'm really proud that I've finished this gift on time. It's for a friend whose birthday is tomorrow. Though I knew it would only take a few hours to knit, I started about three weeks ago. I mostly worked on it during Sip 'n Knit at my LYS, but today I had to knock out 20" inches of I-cord so that the bag could be felted and dried by tomorrow.
I modified the handle because of my experience with using this bag. Sophie's twisted I-cord handle tended to roll off my shoulder, which is where I would wear the bag when loading groceries into the car, browsing at the mall, etc. So I nixed the twisted i-cord and just did a basic strap. This purse is fun and is great for a beginner. The only sewing required is using the kitchener stitch to attach one end of the finished handle to the bag.
